Nirvana play secret show
The party wasn't over for Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Nirvana last Thursday night in Brooklyn.
The duo, along with Nirvana touring member Pat Smear, hit metal bar Saint Vitus Thursday night (April 10) to play a secret show of the band's hits and not-so-hits that included three of the four ladies from their Rock Hall induction performance (Lorde was like naaah) and a few additional friends.
Just as they did at the Barclays Center, the band kicked off the evening of music with "Smells Like Teen Spirit," covered faithfully by Joan Jett. Jett stuck around for five songs in all to start the set, also filling in on "In Bloom" and "All Apologies," the latter with Novoselic on accordion, before Dinosaur Jr.'s J. Mascis jumped behind the mic for three tunes, including "Drain You."
