Nickelback - If i don't go song lyrics

If I don't go

I grew up in a small town
Where drinking was religion, and religion wasn't fixing the problem
And nothing could solve 'em
We were blue collar working class
Us swinging the hammer was the final nail in the coffin
Plagued by political nonsense

Oh, if I don't get up and leave
God only knows where I'll be
Stuck in a rut, not giving a fuck about anything or anyone
Drowning in drink and cigarette smoke
Devil's got his hands around my throat
And I can't ignore all the sirens ringing in my ears
If I don't go, I'm gonna die here

If I don't go, I'm gonna die here

I remember the night when
On the West End, I hit a dead end running from the Reaper
He was dressed like a dealer
And I can't escape, my best friend only made it to eighteen
The only one who could save me
Now there's no one to save me

If I don't get up and leave
God only knows where I'll be
Stuck in a rut, not giving a fuck about anything or anyone
Drowning in drink and cigarette smoke
Devil's got his hands around my throat
And I can't ignore all the sirens ringing in my ears
If I don't go, I'm gonna die here

If I don't go, I'm gonna die here
If I don't go, if I don't go, I'm gonna die here

I grew up in a small town
Where drinking was religion, and religion wasn't fixing the problem
And nothing could solve 'em

Oh, if I don't get up and leave (Up and leave)
God only knows where I'll be (Where I'll be)
Stuck in a rut, not giving a fuck about anything or anyone
Drowning in drink and cigarette smoke
Devil's got his hands around my throat
And I can't ignore all the sirens ringing in my ears
If I don't go, I'm gonna die here

If I don't go, I'm gonna die here
